Ebon Tale are:
Alex Löfgren - Percussion
Frida Franzén - Vocals & Guitar
Mattias Albinsson - Bass
The idea from the beginning wasn't so much to start a rock band. It was a way for some restless and bored kids to kill some time on breaks and gaps during school time in 1998. But in the "rock room" (the rehearsal room of the high-school in Tyresö) the childish dreams of being rock stars suddenly appeared. Frida was given a place where she could canalize her destructive thoughts and feelings, and Alex found a playground and a place for him to not use his head. Since no one wanted (dared) to grab a bass and join them, Mattias came as always, and saved the band from being bass-less. Now, being a three-dimensioned band the dreams took off and have occupied their heads since then.
The three occupied are:
Alex
always tries hard to be the best musician in the band. Unfortunately, he probably is. It's a pleasure to see him in action, although sometimes it's very hard to see him behind all his drums and cymbals. And yet, in a strange way, he succeeds to use it all and kill the prejudice that men can't do two things at the same time. This man does hundreds. Alex's goal is that it should be impossible to see him behind all his stuff. Very strange, since he's always complaining about being photographed too little during the performances.
Frida
has the hard duty to prove that women can do a lot of things at the same time. Even though she handles the guitar and words well, she's probably better off doing other things, like talking a lot of crap. The disorganized songs, or fractions of songs, which she brings to the rehearsals either make the others confused or excited. She persists on tuning the guitar in different ways so she can stay a little bit longer in the light, on stage, tuning.
Even though she's become a little bit less egocentric over the years, she still dreams of being THE Star of the band. And Alex and Mattias kindly let her think that she is.
Mattias
is probably the organizer in the band. Nowadays he always has a specific idea of how it
all should be and sound. But he has also prevented smaller wars between Frida and Alex when their communication hasn't worked so well. Besides that, he also organizes other things with the band that the others are too lazy to do. His melodious way of playing the bass fills the music with a humble mood like himself. Mattias' dream is to develop honest music that is both challenging and appealing at the same time. And, of course, settle all the shit in the music industry… Yeah, right!
